I am getting the following error message when previewing or trying to just
print using the client side activeX printing control after installing sp2
release:
An error occured trying to render the report.
(0x800040005)
? don't have the slightest clue what this could be. I have deleted the
activex installation from the downloaded files directory and tried
reinstalling to no avail. I am running windows server 2003 standard edition.I have the same problem, does anyone have any ideas?

page. I also only get the first page when printing & the error at the end.
I have checked my IE explorer settings & verified scripting is turned on.
Anything else to check?

ReportServer<timestamp>.log file should have some information about the
failure.
If that doesn't help there is a way to turn on logging for the print
control. It is a registry setting on the client machine. I don't remember
the key off hand but can post it later if you don't find the issue from
looking at the report server log files.

1.This solution is for script in a web page. I do not think the control is
designed for using from a winform
2. The control needs to have been installed on the client. Your web page
needs to install this or you need to install it some other way. This is an
IIS thing. I am not doing it because I am using Report Manager. So, if you
use Report Manager and print once then it is installed on the client and the
below will work.
3. Look in readme.sp2Readme_EN.htm for information on using the control
4. Remember that Parameters are case sensitive.

I got this error when I trying to print/preview report from the
ReportManager. I've just installed SP2 to my other machine (second) and the
print/preview button works fine for it. The difference for these two machines
is that the first machine installed SP2 beta before. But I uninstalled RS on
both machines and reinstalled both. Another thing I've noticed is that after
the installation, the RSExecRole was not checked for the ASPNET account on
the first machine but it is checked on the second machine.
Anything else I need to check?

It still does not print or print preview past the first page.
I am using standard report manager with the sample reports.
The report manager is set to an Intranet site with the LOW security setting
in IE.
Another odd item is the page counter on the preview will keep going up in
pages even if the report on has 1 page.
Anything else to check?
