Make sure that the SQL Browser Service is started and make sure the password is correct, Because in my case customer had changed his passwords and we made sure that he changes his passwords from SSCM rather than
Services and then he was able to connect with no problems.

because i think that web parts runs only on sql 2005 so do you know what to do to run web parts on sql2000 ?plz reply
