Error Regarding file import through import wizard

Hi all,

when trying to ímport files to our database server from a client, I keep getting an error:

- Validating (Error)
Messages
Error 0xc00470fe: Data Flow Task: The product level is insufficient for component "Source_txt" (1).
(SQL Server Import and Export Wizard)

Error 0xc00470fe: Data Flow Task: The product level is insufficient for component "Data Conversion 1" (175).
(SQL Server Import and Export Wizard)

... doing the same import when logged on the server, hasn't been giving me any errors, how come. I can from my client without trouble import tables from other DB servers but when ever it is files it won't do it.

I tried as mentioned in other threads rerun setup to re-install SSIS, but as it was already installed it wouldn't re-install. My next move would be to make a clean install, but not sure it would help, as I think this is a buck.

best regards

Musa Rusid

I have encountered the same error trying to import flat files created from Excel sheets. What is the solution? Thanks.

Error on Install

I'm getting an error when trying to install the SQL Server 2005 Express. After it installs the Native Client & Support file, it goes through a configuration check.

I'm getting this error (complete) ::

The SQL Server System Configuration Checker cannot be executed due to WMI configuration on the machine <machine name> Error: 2147746132 (0x80040154)

and then stops.

Suggestions would be great!!!

Re-registering WMI

I've been having some issues with WMI on my laptop over the past couple of weeks (the symptoms of which have been strange WMI repository messages, inability to run WMIC or scripts, machine running slower than usual etc.). I didn't really want to have to re-install or repair Windows to fix this. Fortunately I found this very helpful article on resetting and re-registering the WMI services.

This included the following commands to re-register all of the WMI components:

cd /d %windir%\system32\wbem

for %i in (*.dll) do RegSvr32 -s %i

for %i in (*.exe) do %i /RegServer

I did this, worked for me.

print using the client side activeX printing control after installing sp2
release:
An error occured trying to render the report.
(0x800040005)
? don't have the slightest clue what this could be. I have deleted the
activex installation from the downloaded files directory and tried
reinstalling to no avail. I am running windows server 2003 standard edition.I have the same problem, does anyone have any ideas?

page. I also only get the first page when printing & the error at the end.
I have checked my IE explorer settings & verified scripting is turned on.
Anything else to check?

ReportServer<timestamp>.log file should have some information about the
failure.
If that doesn't help there is a way to turn on logging for the print
control. It is a registry setting on the client machine. I don't remember
the key off hand but can post it later if you don't find the issue from
looking at the report server log files.

1.This solution is for script in a web page. I do not think the control is
designed for using from a winform
2. The control needs to have been installed on the client. Your web page
needs to install this or you need to install it some other way. This is an
IIS thing. I am not doing it because I am using Report Manager. So, if you
use Report Manager and print once then it is installed on the client and the
below will work.
3. Look in readme.sp2Readme_EN.htm for information on using the control
4. Remember that Parameters are case sensitive.

I got this error when I trying to print/preview report from the
ReportManager. I've just installed SP2 to my other machine (second) and the
print/preview button works fine for it. The difference for these two machines
is that the first machine installed SP2 beta before. But I uninstalled RS on
both machines and reinstalled both. Another thing I've noticed is that after
the installation, the RSExecRole was not checked for the ASPNET account on
the first machine but it is checked on the second machine.
Anything else I need to check?

It still does not print or print preview past the first page.
I am using standard report manager with the sample reports.
The report manager is set to an Intranet site with the LOW security setting
in IE.
Another odd item is the page counter on the preview will keep going up in
pages even if the report on has 1 page.
Anything else to check?

Error modifying maintenance plans

Using my client (Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio), I am unable to
open/modify maintenance plans. Something is wrong with my client as I'm able
to open them from the server. I've uninstalled Sql2000 client as well.
I installed the Sql2005 client components, SP1 and the DTS 2000 components.
The error states: "Value cannot be null. Parameter name: component
(Sytem.Design)"
also - Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio is unable to load this document.
Has anyone experienced this or know of a solution?
Thanks.
Ron
Ron,
I am having an identical issue. I can modify plans when running Management Studio on the server,
but not from my client computer. I have 2005 Developer Edition on my computer, and I am able to
create and modify plans on my local SQL Server instance without a problem. As my computer is new,
I have never had any SQL Server 2000 components installed.
Any luck finding a solution to this one?
Joe|||No nothing yet. I'm guessing it's something not clearing out in the registry
or since I thought I was the only one, that it might have been my laptop.
Since I have a workaround (go to the server), I haven't been in a rush for a
solution.

Error messages in Client

Hi
I am running a software package that access SQL Server files. I am getting
these messages:
* "Invalid pointer operation"
* "The RPC server is unavailable"
* "Access violation at address 40006834 in module 'rtl60.bpl'. Read of
address FFFFFFFF" when deleting an event
* "Access violation at address 40006834 in module 'rtl60.bpl'.
Anyone know what may cause these
Thanks
c
I would ask the vendor of the software package as these sound like
application errors, not SQL Server errors.

error message?

I'm catching a primary constraint error in SQL and don't want to return the SQL error message back to the client. Is there any way to stop this. ThankyouCan you define "client" for me? Is the originator of the whole activity or the bit of code that's talking to SQL?|||Its returning the sql error message back to .net page, sorry!|||Do you have a data component or is the page talking to the Db directly?|||directly|||I figured it out thanks anyway!
