Error Reporting: Installation on SQL 2005 on x64

I installed SQL 2005 on x64 machine and notice that my Y: drive (data drive) has these additional directories (shown below). I know those files are components of “Microsoft Application Error Reporting”. They are shared among multiple applications, hence them being in “common files”. After disabling the error reporting using Microsoft SQL Server 2005->Configuration Tools->Error and Usage Reporting, can I get rid of those directories or specify which directory that it should go to? Has anyone seen this before? Thanks.

The following had been installed to the drive that we did not specify in the installation of SQL 2005. Is there any way to redirect these file back the window directory?

I'm pretty sure this is a setup bug where some components are not defaulting to the system drive, or sql drive, but to the drive where you launched setup from. I'm guessing you launched setup from the Y: drive. Don't know if there's a simple way to move them, but you can always uninstall, then reinstall, but this time launch setup from the drive you want these components installed on.sql

Error Rendering PDF Files

If anyone can offer some suggestions for fixing this, I would be really
grateful.
I have a web page that shows reports a user can select. The rendering format
I use is PDF. When the user chooses to view the report for the first time,
they get an Adobe error message saying "There was an error opening this
document. The file cannot be found." The second attempt does not generate
this error. I also added a new report and it gets the Adobe error everytime.
If I let the format come out as native SQL Reporting, the error does not
happen at all. The user's would really like to have Adobe instead.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how to fix it? Thank you.I found the solution to this problem. Clearing the temporary internet files
enabled the Adobe error to go away.

Error Regarding file import through import wizard

Hi all,

when trying to ímport files to our database server from a client, I keep getting an error:

- Validating (Error)
Messages

I tried as mentioned in other threads rerun setup to re-install SSIS, but as it was already installed it wouldn't re-install. My next move would be to make a clean install, but not sure it would help, as I think this is a buck.

Error opening PDF files exported from Reporting Services

Hi,
When I try exporting reports from Reporting Services to a PDF format, I
get the following error:
"There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and
could not be repaired."
This has started to happen all of a sudden. There were no problems
with pdf exports before. I have checked and there have been no recent
changes to adobe reader version(5.01) on the user's machine.
Any ideas or guidance on this would be appreciated.

I believe it may have something to do with the version of Adobe Reader. I
just updated to 7.0.5 and started having the same problem. Does reporting
services have a patch or do I need to drop back a version on Adobe Reader?

There are 4 emails generated by Reporting Services for this particular
report, two go to our customers in the â'To:â' area of the email and two in the
â'Bcc:â' area. The two going to the â'To:â' area can not open the PDF file. They
get the error â?¦
Adobe Reader could not open 'Dealer Report FI Only [1].pdf because its
either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for
example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasnt correctly decoded).
(note that the above message was typed by our customer and may not be
exactly what was issued)
The customer says that they have the latest version of Adobe Reader. The
curious thing is that when they forward the email to me I can open it just
fine. Very strange.
Can anyone in the Microsoft world help with this issue?

Error on Forms Authentication Security Extension on MSDN

I made changes and setup all config files as per article and also give
permssion to folder.

But the columns are OK.

There is a limit to the number of columns in a table in SQL Server but there is really none in the data file. As long as you have to terminators defined properly BCP should be able to parse the file correctly assuming it is formatted correctly.

Error on attaching a database

When attaching a database that was detached from another SQL Server instance(copied raw .mdf and ldf files)..

I got the error message below:

When I try to execute the code, I get the following error, on this line: select @.cmd = @.cmd + ' with (Fieldterminator = ',')'

Msg 141, Level 15, State 1, Procedure Imp_Header_PO_sp, Line 46

A SELECT statement that assigns a value to a variable must not be combined with data-retrieval operations.

I've tried to find a fix for this error, but it seams to only relate to a select statement and not a Bulk Insert. Can someone please help me figure out how to fix this error?

Causes:

This error occurs when you are assigning the column values from a SELECT statement into local variables but not all columns are assigned to a corresponding local variable.

select @.cmd = @.cmd + ' with (Fieldterminator = '','')'

instead of

select @.cmd = @.cmd + ' with (Fieldterminator = ',')'

I am running a software package that access SQL Server files. I am getting
these messages:
* "Invalid pointer operation"
* "The RPC server is unavailable"
* "Access violation at address 40006834 in module 'rtl60.bpl'. Read of
address FFFFFFFF" when deleting an event
* "Access violation at address 40006834 in module 'rtl60.bpl'.
Anyone know what may cause these

application errors, not SQL Server errors.
