error mssqlserver

Hi all:
The errors always during the maintenance plan, and the last error we have is:
17066; SQL Server Assertion File:<page.cpp>, line=2831
Failed Assertion='spceContig>=Align (spaceNedded)'
What means?
Thank you.
Jose
Did you search KB and Google? Using below search words, I got a number of hits on Google:
SQL 17066
Often Assertion problems are bugs in LSQ server, but then can also be corruption problems in your
database. Run DBCC CHECKDB and also search KB etc and make sure you are current on service pack. If
that doesn't help, consider opening a case with MS Support.

Error Message When Connecting to SQl Server Data

I am using MSDE on XP pro Service Pack 2 and have stored my data on the
default instance of MSSQLSERVER on my computer ID OFFICEPC. This is
networked to LAPTOP and SHOPPC.
My Access front end works fine with the SQL back end on the OFFICEPC. But
when I try to link the same front end from one of the other computers using
ODBC, i get the following error:
Connection Failed:
SQL state 2800
SQL Server Error 18456
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server] Login failed for user
'OFFICEPC\Guest'
I have run svrnetcn.exe and enabled port 1433 to pass through the firewall.
Ports 135 and 445 are also enabled.
What have I done wrong? Thanks in advance for any help

it seems you do not have firewall troubles, but standard security problems,
as OFFICEPC\.. users are not granted login to MSDE instance... please verify
your Logins
can you telnet on port 1433 the MSDE instance?

I think you are right about it being a standard security problem. How do I
telnet on port 1433, and How do I grant login to my MSDE instance?

in order to grant your 'OFFICEPC\xxxx' users, you have to add them to the
SQL Server Windows logins...
please have a look at
http://support.microsoft.com/default...N-US;q325003#8 for
further info about granting login to Windows logins/groups

Hi Michael,
Check your SQL Server errorlogs, there could be more information about the
problem why SQL Server won't start.
Hope this helps,

Error message

Hi,

I keep getting this error message while creating and deploying my report. I already restart the SQL server services(MSSQLServer) a lot of times, it is still the same.

  • An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
  • Cannot create a connection to data source 'AdventureWorks'. (rsErrorOpeningConnection)
  • A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: Shared Memory Provider, error: 0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.)

I also got another error message while deploying my report.

  • The selected report is not ready for viewing. The report is still being rendered or a report snapshot is not available. (rsReportNotReady)

Anybody knows how to solve this?

  • For the first error, try enabling named pipe for SQL server. Make sure you restart RS service after restarting SQL service.|||

I already tried that. Sometimes it works, but after a few minutes, it give me back the same error message or this:

  • The report server cannot open a connection to the report server database. A connection to the database is required for all requests and processing. (rsReportServerDatabaseUnavailable)
  • A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: Shared Memory Provider, error: 0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.)|||

Oh ... You need to fix "Initialization" first. I am surprised it worked for you at all. However, the error message doesn't make sense to me. Can you try resetting database connection from the config tool? Make sure every tab is green.

Perhaps the easiest solution is to reinstall RS.

Can anyone shed any light on the following error message

    PeterHello, Peter!
This, AFAIK, is SQL Server telling you it has been told to shut down. The
Event Type is Information. I do not think there is anything to worry about
from a SLQ Server point of view. You may however want to know who and why
    your server is shutting down.<grin>
