Error Message: Setup Failed because MSSQL$SQLExpress is disabled for the current hardware profil

When installing SQLEXPRESS I am getting this message:

Setup failed because service MSSQL$SQLExpress is disabled for the current hardware profile. Services must be set with the current Hardware Profile logon property enabled.

Anybody knows how to fix this problem?

Eitan

Can you describe the machine you're trying to install on (architecture, os, etc)?|||

It is windows 2000 server edition.

The SQL Server Express was installed and working fine.

I to installed the SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition but it brought my computer to a halt almost so I uninstalled.

After uninstalling it the SQL Server Express did not work and I am trying to re-install it.

Thanks

You might want to try the following guidance on cleaning up the machine before reinstalling.

Do you have MSSQL$SQLExpress service installed at all in SCM?

If so go to service properties and on Log On tab enable HW profile.

If the service is not installed open regedit and delete this registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles\Current\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\ROOT\LEGACY_MSSQL$SQLExpress

error message saying I do not meet minimum hardware requirements

Hi

trying to install sql server 2005, but I get an error message that I do not meet minimum hardware requirements. But this is not right. I've a 32-bit system...............Windows XP professional and SP2. I have enough disk space and just don't know what the problem is. Please help anyone

Which edition are you trying to install? Enterprise edition is not suppoted and will not install on Windows XP. Also, is the install blocking you or just warning you?|||trying to install the standard ed. Its actually just a warning, but if I do carry on, it says something about not finding asp.net|||You'll get the warning if the processor speed is under 1 GHz or memory is under 1 GB. This is spelled out on the readme on the CD/DVD. I would bet you're under one of these numbers.
